The Number One Ricki Lake fan site, PlanetRicki.com officially launched on May 20, 2003. For nearly one year, thousands of fans from the US, Canada and around the world have logged on to read the latest Ricki news and join the conversation at the message boards.

The Award Winning site features the only free Ricki Lake email account, photo gallery with over 100 press photos and screen shots and a video clip archive featuring 'The Best of Ricki,' interview and television appearance clips.

The site is always evolving. In January 2004, PlanetRicki held its first contest, called the 'Best Breakfast Recipe' contest. Ricki fans had a chance to send in their creative ideas and compete for a chance to win some great Ricki Lake prizes.

Its content and streamline design have made the site a two-year consecutive winner of the Golden Web Award and was Celebrity Site of the Day on June 2, 2003.

Allthough a large portion of the site is based around the 'Ricki Lake Show,' PlanetRicki is dedicated to following Ricki Lake's ever-changing career. It's no wonder PlanetRicki is the Number One Ricki Lake fan site: made for the fans, by the fans.

"PlanetRicki.com Launches New Design to Kick off Ricki Lake's 11th Season of Syndication."
Syracuse, NY: July 30, 2003

It's no secret that Ricki Lake is packing up her bags and moving to LA, however, the real celebration is her show. 'Ricki Lake' celebrates 11 years this fall, premiering on Sept. 15 (check local listings or log on to ricki.com).

To celebrate and wish Ricki all the best in her move, PlanetRicki.com is launching in late August with a new concept/ design aimed at being more user friendly and cross browser compatible.

Some of the site's not-so-popular features, such as the 'Ricki ShoutOUT! board and online Amazon store will not be returning this fall. The shout out board is being replaced by the Fan Connection Forum, a more powerful tool for easier communication between fans. A new feature making its debute with the new layout are Ricki Postcards, personalized greetings you can send to your friends.

In addition to new, exciting features and resolving some technical issues, a new navigation system will be in place. The launch for the new concept is scheduled for late August.

An End to a New Beginning
Ricki Lake fan site closes after 4 1/2 Year Run

Syracuse, NY May 21, 2003. After its nearly 5 year run the renound Ricki Lake fan site RickiWorld published its final update the week ending May 25.

RickiWorld, launching in October of 1999, enjoyed much success during its years of publication. Often times the most updated and current site many of Lake's fans flocked too.

The site even caught the eye of Entertainment Weekly Magazine writer Scott Brown, who included a profile of the site in a special issue of EW Internet in the fall of 2000. RickiWorld was also a two time winner of the prestigious Golden Web Award for 2001 and 2002.

So what does this mean for Ricki Lake fans alike? Not much will change. The closing of RickiWorld comes at the launch of the newest, possibly better Ricki Lake fan site, PlanetRicki.com.

While RickiWorld will remain online through the end of May, most of the sites features including its exclusive RL Mail have been moved to the new site.

It is sad to see an old friend go, however the results are indeed and end to a new beginning.
